Some of the things in my life that I am the most proud of are some of the assets that make me the right choice to be your next Ward 3 Councillor. I am a proudly born and raised Saultite, a small business owner, a mother and a woman who has learned to speak up for her seat at the table.

Being born and raised in The Soo has afforded me many opportunities. I grew up in a city that always felt safe, where neighbours were more like family and the community helped to shape the woman I am today. I want to help bring Sault Ste Marie back to that safe and community minded place, while still moving us forward with attractive jobs, a push on tourism and steady and diverse growth.

The Breakfast Pig has brought me so much. I am a business owner who is pragmatic, knows how to ask the right questions to get the job done, can keep up with the changing landscape of social media and remaining relevant, and I know how to be a leader, but can recognize when I am needed as a team player.  Even with all of that, the greatest gift my business has given me has been allowing me to develop the platform to try to better this community by helping those who are in need.

I'm now a mother and my little girl has taught me new patience, shone a new light on the world and everything in it and has truly made me a better person. Becoming a parent is something so special and something many of us have or will experience, but it seems to be left out of decision making at Council. I am a primary care giver. I am a single mom. I know what it is like to put a child’s needs above my own and I want to be the mind and the voice for those of us who want to see improvements for our children. I want to lay the building blocks for my daughter and all of our children to be able to call Sault Ste Marie their forever homes if they choose to.

I am not afraid to speak to my strengths. I am a woman who believes in herself and I believe in my ability to affect positive change. I will fight for my seat at the table so that I can ensure that women are represented, that parents are represented, that business owners are represented, that young girls can see themselves in my seat and so all youth are given what they need to thrive in The City of Sault Ste Marie. We must invest our time, money and energy into ourselves. If elected, I will proudly and tirelessly work for this community that has given me so much.
